Engineering for silence: how Aqualis approaches acoustic performance

In a bedroom or a hotel room, a condensate pump is often the only mechanical sound left once the air conditioner is running quietly. That is why silence is a design requirement at Aqualis, not an afterthought.

Why silence matters

Modern indoor units have become remarkably quiet. As a result, any pump noise stands out — especially at night. For installers, a noisy pump means callbacks; for building owners, it means complaints.

Designing out noise

Our lifting pumps use a diaphragm mechanism, a technology well suited to moving small volumes of water quietly. Smart on/off control means the pump runs only when the reservoir needs to be emptied, reducing total operating time.

The pump body is encapsulated in resin, which protects it against water ingress — IP66 on the AD-CY01, IP67 on the AD-BU01 — and contributes to a compact, robust assembly.

Measuring what matters

Sound levels are specified at a distance of one metre, so that figures reflect what an occupant would perceive and can be compared fairly. The AD-CY01 and AD-BU01 are rated at 16 dB(A) or less at 1 m; the AD-GE01 at 17 dB; the AD-PS02 below 21 dB.

Silence without compromise

Low noise cannot come at the expense of performance or safety. Aqualis lifting pumps combine their acoustic performance with up to 15 m of discharge head, a 3 A safety contact and a universal 100–240 VAC power supply.
